20 ways to be moe productive & healthy in 2018

Now that the New Year has begun, I am hoping that everyone has had a great start to smashing all those goals that you have set out to accomplish! I’m always looking for ways to be more productive because I always have the most going on !

Most of us have a lot going on.  In order to be successful in all that we set out to accomplish it is important that we have a plan on how we are to proceed.

A goal without a plan is just a wish

1. Make a List

Nothing makes you feel more productive than a list! Make a list and prioritize the most important task first. Simply check off task completed until done!

2. Set a Routine

Set a routine for success! Keep a daily schedule if needed. Consistency is key! Remaining focused on whatever it is you are trying to do will bring success!

3. Seek Help when needed

Asking for help when necessary is one of the most difficult things for me to do. I’m so particular about how I want things done.  However, I do not know how to do everything. Seek people who are doing what you aspire to do for guidance.

4.Wake up Earlier

There are only so many hours in the day! Get up earlier to get more done.  That extra hour when the house is still asleep is the perfect time to get a head start on your day

5. Self -Care

One cannot pour from an empty cup.

Take care of your self first so you are mentally and physically ready to handle all of your responsibilities.

Self-care is simply the act of taking care of yourself.  As women a lot of times we get caught up in the act of nurturing others that we forget about our selves.  Take the time to do something you enjoy. Enjoy some tea, soak in a bath. Read for pleasure or self-improvement.

6. Set Personal Boundaries

Respect yourself and demand respect from those that you allow in your space. Sometimes you have to teach people how to treat you. If you don’t set boundaries people will think that any old thing goes with you. As a former people pleaser, I can say this may not be the easiest thing to do, but it is essential.

7. Get a Good Night’s Sleep

You can’t be productive if you are tired all of the time.  I am so guilty of not getting enough sleep at night, which causes me to feel like The Walking Dead by noon.

Tips for a better night’s sleep:

  • Be consistent with a bedtime routine
  • Drink Tea
  • Unplug!
  • Yoga/Meditation

8. Get Rid of the Junk

Clear out all of the junk in your life for better focus! Organize your home, clean out your closets and end dead-end relationships! Anything that no longer serves you or grows you is not beneficial to your health.

9. Get Organized

Once you get rid of the unnecessary BS it will be much easier to get organized. I use a notebook, planners, and my iPhone to keep everything together.

10. Take Small Steps

If the goal you want to achieve seems too big, take small actionable steps.  Make monthly, weekly or daily goals as needed.

11. Don’t Procrastinate!

  • work in productive environments
  • commit to assignments
  • Be realistic, change doesn’t come overnight

12. Go to the doctor!

Queens and Kings, health is wealth! Please keep up with your checkups and appointments in order to prevent health problems in the future. You can’t get things done if you are sick.

13. Switch up your Surroundings

A change of scenery may be just what you need to get those creative juices going.  If you cannot concentrate in your normal workspace, try getting out of the house. Go to a coffee house or library to work.  If it is rest you need, try a weekend getaway.

14. Keep a Positive Mindset

It is important to maintain a positive mindset every day.  the person who believes in a positive outcome usually gets one.

16. Move!

Get some exercise! There are so many health benefits to exercise. Just 30 minutes a day can make a positive change in one’s overall health. Find an activity you like and start moving.

17.  Drink More Water

Did you know the human body is about 70%water? Drinking water helps prevent fatigue, keeps the skin and hair healthy, flushes out toxins, and more!

18. Eat a Balanced Diet

You are what you eat! Eating a healthy diet of more fruits and vegetables than meats and starches, with minimal fat and sugars is ideal.

19. Give More

The act of giving is beneficial to the soul.  Give freely and without expectations and watch those blessing come back! In turn, you will feel great on the inside, which in turn will inspire you to get stuff done!

20. Love More

I honestly believe that love can heal the world.  You never know what someone else is going through, showing a little love and compassion goes a long way. Not only that, loving yourself is an act of self-care. People who feel loved are generally more successful.

  • Ohh shoot, I thought I had left a comment but it sent you a message instead haha wow..
    Anyway, I have implemented a bunch of these to my New Year’s resolutions and I’m loving how much more productive I am feeling 🙂

  • Many of these come easy for me especially get enough rest and practicing self-care. I definitely need to work on getting rid of junk and waking up early just isn’t in the cards for me lol. Great list. Thank you.
